Silver, Hirschfeld

Our Rick, with Kay Silver and unidentified pussycat.

“Catherine, Kay & Dicke Silver, and Suilena Kubitski, our new sister”
Partly because of the close coincidence of our dates of primiparous parturition, but mainly just by reason of good chemistry, Dick and Kay Silver were our closest friends in the Stanford Second Ward congregation. We carpooled to the Oakland Temple by their hospitality, on one occasion.

Dick finished his Stanford studies and went to work for Procter & Gamble. We stopped to see them in Cincinnati, on one of our cross-country trips. Couldn’t now say in what year.

I would maim to find the photo I think I remember of my Valerie and Kay Silver, both generously, gloriously pregnant, and each seeming to support one side of a doorway, engaged in intense conversation, and each absent-mindedly scratching her lovely convexity. Maybe I didn’t get it on film, but it’s seared, seared into my memory.
Bob Hirschfeld was an old friend from East Compost at MIT. The Hirschfelds had us over for a Pacific delicacy: fresh, live crab.

Their Seresa was a cutie.
