The pahtio, looking northward from its doorway on Public Alley 420 between Beacon and Marlboro Streets.
The corridor where the iceman cometh extends straight back (forward? into the house) from the black door; we’d enter there, park our bikes in the corridor, and turn immediately left through the door (with the umbrella and galette) by the table. |
And la châtelaine, arriving home after dark on her basketed conveyance. Upon which, as far as we remember, we uncharacteristically never hung a name.
Looking southward from our “main entrance,” in a wave of enthusiasm over her welcome arrival, I snapped this flash shot, to Valerie’s gentle exasperation. Behind her, you can just make out the three concrete (stone?) steps up to the alley-way door. |
