March 2, 1964 (concluded)—Then we went on the “Vedette de la Tour Eiffel“ tourist boat on the Seine. All the most impressive monuments of this crown of cities of the earth are even more magnificent, seen from the river.

Then back to the Tower for a delicious banquet and the concluding session, at which President Petersen answered our questions and urged us to cultivate sincerity toward God, toward ourselves, and therefore toward those whose immortal souls are placed in our hands: our investigators.

No point in trying to express my feelings as I heard this living apostle bear testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard such a powerful testimony, or at least one that struck me so strongly. And I nearly wept, when I approached him after the meeting to shake his hand, and he called me by my name [n.b. this was before missionary name-tags] and thanked me for my work on the Étoile—me, who have done so little! I love that great man, and I pray that he’ll be spared to stay among us for a long time!
