Dolmen, Journal

Another view of the dolmen, with an imported hood-ornament.

February 21—What a terrific session we had yesterday with Mike Pillsbury! More than two hours, based on the third discussion. I say “based on,” because we talked about a lot of things that don’t normally come up in that context. As a matter of principle, we’re uneasy about digressing far from the subject, but he asked such intelligent questions, and he received our answers joyously. For example, he laughed out loud as he read the parable of the seed in Alma 32. When I asked him why, he said it was because it was so perfect, and that he’d never seen anything so satisfying and convincing.

We plan to spend our lunch hours together, all next week; from noon to 2 pm, we’ll meet at the salle, eat together, and talk about the Gospel. If he keeps progressing as he’s begun, we’ll baptize him at the end of next week.
