February 5—More complications for the Castres. Brother Castre just returned from the hospital to spend two weeks at home. It seems that the surgeon who was supposed to operate on his brain tumor underwent an emergency surgery himself, last evening. Physician, heal thyself, indeed!
This physician made a pretty serious mistake, too. In Brother Castre’s presence, he said to a group of young medical students that he had a tumor and that his situation was pretty serious. This news, of course, depressed the poor patient, who thought he just had to get rid of a piece of shrapnel. He seems in better balance now, but all this pushes off his baptism date, which is both too bad and dangerous.
