Journal December 26-28, 1962
December 26—What a celebration! Claude Leroy came to our place Monday morning, and we had a happy reunion. Then at 5 p.m., we all went to his house and did a traditional réveillon. It was formidable! Started to eat around 7:30, and we were still eating at 4 in the morning. Played dominos, listened to records, sang, and rejoiced together. The family opened Christmas presents. We were all impressed with the ones that came from America, and much gratitude was expressed.

December 28—Since Wednesday, we haven’t done anything but clean up after the celebrations. The district work is behind schedule, and there’s a lot to prepare before the New Year. I’ve got to get myself “au besogne,’ as they say in Belgium.
