May 1 (continued)—Then we went to
the Leroys’ to dine with them and to spend the holiday afternoon in their company. The lunch was delicious, crowned with a chocolate cake surrounded by Jell-O, which I’d given Sister Leroy out of a care-package from home.
Then we went to a nearby open field to play volleyball. Simply perfect. |

May 1 (continued)—At six, we had a group-meeting appointment with the Leblancs and their neighbors. All thirteen investigators who came accepted a baptismal challenge. And M. Leblanc was the most receptive of all, even though he’d been very negative, the first time we met with him. |
May 3—Sister Daligault said this morning that I now speak French without an accent. I’m afraid she may be flattering me a bit, but it’s always gratifying to hear comments like that.
M. Molina is in the hospital—a stomach rupture of some sort. And Mme Molina was hit by a car the other day. They’re beginning to take the Book of Mormon more seriously, and he absolutely refuses to accept the ministrations of the Catholic clergy at the hospital. |
