It’s evening now, and the same power [55] is still at work to hinder us: somebody stole my Mobylette, while we were at the Delétangs’. If we never see it again, maybe that wouldn’t be so bad: the insurance would pay more than I’ll be able to get by selling it. On the other hand, if the thieves just damage it and leave it to be found, then I could be out its whole value. Guess we’ll see. Nothing to be done about it for the moment, in any case.

Very amateur, of course, for Elder Higley is a professional actor but not a writer.
