Eastwoods
Here’s a more recent picture of this cherished friend. Charles and his sweet Laurie are the central figures in this shot, taken at the Redlands Temple dedication in 2003. these days, he serves as Patriarch in San Bernardino, a successor to our Pappy in that assignment.

Laurie’s mother, Minerva Teichert (1888-1976), was well-known as a painter in the West and among “Mormons”, but apparently beyond those boundaries as well.

The Eastwoods had spent their first few nights in San Bernardino as our family’s guests at our East Sixteenth Street homestead. Ran into their daughter Marian Eastwood Wardle at the Bountiful Temple the other day (August 2006), and she reminded me that they used to call me “Witchie.”
