back Beech Hill Cemetery next
Small, indifferently maintained, and deucedly hard to find (I resorted to a very handy Internet satellite photo and directions from kindly locals), the Beech Hill Cemetery in Colebrook, Connecticut, is nonetheless chock-full of treasures for our family. You’ll find it among the trees, across Beech Hill Road from its T-intersection with the south end of Simons Pond Road.
Including the resting places of our honored 4th great grandparents, Lieutenant John Stillman and Rachel Robbins Stillman, 3rd great Grandpa Appleton Stillman, and several of our uncles, aunts, and first cousins, this is very much the Stillman family burial ground.

There are a few recent graves toward the east end, but our Stillmans occupy pretty much the west half of the ground.
Of 66 occupants listed at

35 bear the Stillman surname, and one shows Stillman as her maiden name.

All these are descendants of John and Rachel, as you will see on the next page.
