This is No. 122 Russell Street. The lilacs don’t seem to have survived.

And that’s Mrs. Brandhorst on the porch, talking on her cell phone. She was very gracious about letting me trample her front lawn in search of the perfect camera angle on the Russell property across the street.

Mrs. Brandhorst confirms that the famous Benjamin Russell homestead, for all its solidity, was already gone when her husband was growing up here.
