Susan Wright, 1943-2021
Sue The 401st Compact Day (November 11, 2021, be it superfluously specified) turned out to be just about more eventful than my deteriorating body could handle. Starting out with the funeral in Provo of our beloved step-sister-in-law, Susie Wright, wife of Dave. The crowd in the Berg Mortuary testified to the love of a large family and many friends.

Breast cancer, be it regretfully acknowledged, takes a lot of our favorite women. While we still wish it wouldn’t.

We’d have gone to the cemetery for the burial service and then on to the family luncheon, except that (1) my crippled state excludes me from rough terrain; (2) we’d already paid for the spring Mayflower banquet in Salt Lake in the early evening; and (3) I find it prohibitively hard, these days, to forgo my afternoon nap.

So, we returned to Chankly and the aforesaid nap.
