Elder Bryan, in the Republic of China |
When our darling Elder Ricky went off to Belgium in 1985 on his second mission to the French-speaking people there, we were proud beyond measure of my son and namesake. I’ve now reviewed the weekly e-mails and photos that Elder Bryan Wolz Anderson sent home to his mom throughout his two-year mission to the Taiwanese, and I must say that it’s a good thing we’re not Nephites, else our joy might cause us to fall* to the earth! Bryan, my second namesake descendant, thank the Lord, has continued the family tradition.
Over and over, I’ve thought with pride and admiration, “Well, that certainly belongs in Such A Life.” And if I were to follow through on all such temptations, this would come to look like “Bryan’s Life,” and I would become guilty of usurping Bryan’s opportunity and duty to document his own life and testimony for his own descendants. Instead, I’ll now just assemble a couple of pages of thumbnails, in no particular order, from a more-or-less representative selection of his photos and wind up this chapter with one of the many testimonies he bore in his letters. |
