Appendix: Tours
I’ve already had a lot to say about the very ancient and beautiful city of Tours, where my loving President Hinckley was kind enough to send me to finish up my first mission, after the year I spent on his staff. While I lived there in 1964, it was both home and a jumping-off place for a fair number of cultural and touristic explorations of the Touraine and the Loire Valley.

Here, as a place-holder for all the precious memories that will die with me, before very long, I’ll just display two of Pappy’s photos, both from the time between my missions. As in so many cases, I recognize far more faces than I can put names to, these days.

A mission leadership visitation to the Tours Branch, 1967 or 1968:
Mammy, right in the middle;
Yvonne Arditi (Mission Relief Society President, in navy blue, with tan purse;
and at right with accordion, the faithful Jules Roux,
long-enduring tower of strength for the branch and later for the Le Mans District.
Unless I’m severely mistaken, this was the salle de réunions where the branch met, back when I was laboring there and in Rennes. Lots of memories.
