Appendix: Poitiers |
Pappy’s notes identify this as the Baptistère Saint-Jean, a Roman building dating from about 360 A. D., to which a baptismal font was added in the sixth century. Obviously of interest to |
our missionaries. Hope somebody can help me identify these four handsome young elders;1 they comprised, sans doute, the District of Poitiers at some point in 1967-68. The gentleman at left may have been a docent, or some other sort of tour guide. Or perhaps just a local friend with whom they posed for Pappy’s camera.
