Maybe all you need to know about Billy Joe is that his previous assignment had been in Peru, where he’d been instrumental in founding the Andes Mission. The Fotheringhams moved in next door to the Pretender to the Throne. |

We met, and he was a very charming gentleman. But my memory’s leaky. 9When I get there in the chronology, maybe I’ll ask Valerie to write up the visit in which the Fotheringhams were our kindly hosts. ’Twas the first time either of us had spent the night in the home of anybody with, to our perceptions at least, a whole lot of money. |
