Sturbridge
The leash came in handy at Sturbridge Village, as well.

Rick had a fetching habit of declaiming at length to anybody or to nobody, emphasizing his utterances with whatever stick came to hand.

As his command of conventional language grew, he would up-end a chair in the parlor, stand behind it, and welcome us all to Sacrament meeting…

He wasn’t a lot more convinced
about large animals here
than he had been at his cousins’ place
in Utah, several months earlier.

Not sure how I’d offended,
but Sturbridge offered condign restraints.

By this time, I was an Officer of Harvard University,1 with Faculty Club privileges. And so we took Mammy and Pappy there for lunch. Great anecdote in the sidebar here.
