Across the Atlantic
From the Salt Lake Airport, we flew to Montreal and enjoyed a long enough layover to take in some of the local sights. Then Air France took very good care of us on the transatlantic leg to Paris’ Orly Airport.

This classy menu, provided even to coach passengers1 such as we, afforded a first experience of the grace with which the French conduct food-service operations. As we would learn in time, they’re awfully good at it. Some of them don’t understand how we Yanks manage with so much less style…
1Compare, if you like, an analogous first-class menu from 1969.
