back Daniel and Rebecca Smith Hurd next
Berkshire County land records reveal that Grandpa Daniel purchased land in Beech Plain, in the northeast corner of Sandisfield. In the middle of the War, 4 September 1778, he paid ten pounds, ten shillings to Phinehas Kingsbury, Jr., for a lot whose size the deed1 doesn’t specify. The next entry2 in the book of deeds documents his purchase of another item from Jonathan Robbins of Wethersfield, Connecticut; I’m still looking into the location and extent of this lot.
