According to Lapham,1 our 6GGF Nathan Munroe a “… son of the first Joseph married Mercy Benjamin in 1738 and built his house in what is now [ca. 1970] Mrs. Towle’s orchard on Westford Street. The cellar hole has been filled in, but the late George Wilkins, a neighbor, told me that he remembered having seen it as a boy. Nathan was a Minuteman.” When the Second District of Carlisle was established in 1780, Grandpa Nathan was listed among its founding officers.
