The Reverend Thomas Shepard is our uncle by marriage: our 8th great-aunt Joanna Hooker (about 1611-1646)* was the second of his three wives and mother of three of his five children. Here’s our descent:

*Older sister of our 7th Great Grandfather the Reverend Samuel Hooker. If I have it right, Joanna and Samuel came third and eighth among the ten children of our 8th Great Grandparents the Reverend Thomas and Susan Harkes Garbrand Hooker.
