back Tenth Stop: Isaac Decker
After five years’ work, with the collaboration and contributions of many fellow descendants and other friends, we were finally able to give Grandpa Isaac a proper stone on Armistice Day, 11 November 2006. Larry Weist of the Deseret Morning News was kind enough to join about 40 of us for the dedication of the monument and the rededication of the grave. His article about the event, appeared 24 November.
While we were at it, we took advantage of discounted rates to put up our own stone, a few feet away. Some of our kids think we’re awfully morbid. We think we’re doing them a favor.
