James and Asenath Munroe Wilkins |
The youngest daughter of David
and Asenath Wilkins Munroe, her mother’s namesake,
became Asenath Munroe Wilkins by marrying — now keep this straight — James Wilkins, a widower. One suspects that he was probably a kinsman, likely of Carlisle stock, before marrying into the family via Asenath, but I
haven’t checked to be sure.
The Wilkinses’ monument compares respectably to that of Asenath’s grandparents. Here’s their inscription, closer up. |
